Tips On Bringing Your Cat To The Vet
Always use a cat carrier and try to choose one that is sturdy and secure.
Try to leave the carrier in a room where your cat spends a lot of time. Place familiar bedding/ treats/ toys in the carrier and hopefully your cat will enter the carrier voluntarily.
Consider use of synthetic feline facial pheromone analog (Feliway®) spray in the carrier at least 30 minutes prior
to transport to help calm the cat. Please ask our staff about more details on this product.
Ideally secure the carrier with a seat belt in the car to avoid your cat being tossed about on the journey. If your cat likes to hide consider covering the carrier with a towel/ blanket. Always place familiar bedding in the carrier to help your cat feel more secure.
Try to stay calm yourself. If you are anxious your cat will sense this and may in turn become fearful.
